Date & Place of Death: Death occurred in a plane crash in a routine training flight over the ocean near San Diego, CA May 19, 1943.
Sketch: Lieutenant Taylor entered the NYS College of Forestry in September 1939. He completed two full years of academic work but left in the middle of the first semester of his junior year to enlist in the Naval Aviation arm of the US Navy. He received his training at Pensacola, FL and in CA. He had received his lieutenancy and assignment to carrier service just previous to the flight on which he met his death.
